Mitsubishi Outlander Review

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV introduces the brand to the Sri Lanka market for a clean energy crossover. It includes a twin electric motor technology that enables the vehicle 4WD and delivers power separately to the front and back wheels. The Outlander also has near-instantaneous torque thanks to its electric motors, as well as zero emissions. It is powered by a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 128hp and 199 Nm of torque, which is mated to a hybrid system. While it may not appear much on paper, the crossover's battery pack and electric motors promise to deliver excellent fuel efficiency. The electric motor alone can generate 137 Nm of torque, which is more than enough to move the clean energy SUV.

Mitsubishi Outlander is available in six trim levels, each design package. You can modify your Outlander to make it the ideal vehicle for you, whether you want a powerful engine or more cargo space. Furthermore, the interior of this vehicle includes:

  • Comfortable seating and storage areas.
  • Making it ideal for road trips.
  • Grocery shopping.
  • Even daily commutes

The GX 2WD starts at LKR 11 Million and comes standard with lane departure warning, radar cruise control, and a rearview camera.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the company's first plug-in car in the Philippines, with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine combined with two electric motors. The total output is 236 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. A Lithium-ion battery powers the electric mill, and the fused engines are connected with a single-speed gearbox. The Outlander PHEV is only available with four-wheel drive in three modes: Normal, Lock, and Sport for the Philippine market.

The new Outlander has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm and a ground clearance of 190 mm. The seven-seat arrangement provides plenty of space for passengers when it comes to the Mitsubishi Outlander interior. It includes a slew of features such as an electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and so on. It also has a 6.1-inch 2-DIN head unit and a Rockford Fosgate acoustic design premium sound system with four speakers and a 710W eight-channel amplifier.

The outside of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is sleek, and it's accented with some chrome trim pieces. The classic Mitsubishi design language is known as the 'Dynamic Shield' is prominently shown on this tiny crossover. The new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander exterior dimensions are 4,695 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height. Thanks to design and aesthetic improvements, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander looks more premium. This PHEV variant has LED headlights and fog lights upfront.  The front bumper receives LED fog lamps and a slew of geometric components that improve its appearance from the front. The SUV has LED rear combo lighting at the back.

Going around the side, the Outlander PHEV retains its basic profile looks, however aside from the well-planted lines, it also receives some chrome highlights, notably on the handles, below the doors, and on the windows. This crossover is outfitted with a set of 18-inch alloys that complement its overall look.

A 5-star NCAP safety rating for a worry-free driving experience makes the vehicle more appealing to prospective consumers. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV's safety features include:

  • Adaptive cruise control.
  • Forward collision avoidance.
  • Blind-spot warning.
  • Rear cross-traffic alert.
  • Automatic high beam.
  • An ultrasonic mis-acceleration mitigation system.

The Mitsubishi Outlander has a lot to offer in both style and features. It has an aggressive and stylish style and amenities that are unrivaled in the SUV industry. The Mitsubishi Outlander is the ideal SUV for people looking for something different than what is generally available at their local dealership.
