Nissan Navara Review

The Navara receives a significant lighting upgrade. All models except the EL receive a Quad-LED Projector with Follow-Me-Home functionality, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), LED fog lamps and LED taillamps. The base EL model comes standard with halogen multi-reflector headlamps and bulb-type taillights.

A full-length, fully-boxed ladder frame beneath the Navara adds stiffness to the pickup, while the rigid five-link rear suspension improves comfort for all passengers. Nissan's around-view monitor, which provides a full 360-degree view of the pickup truck while seated in the cockpit, has been added to the high-trim Navaras. The Nissan Navara is powered by a 2.5-liter 16-valve engine that produces 161 horsepower and 403 Newton-meters of torque in the base model and 187 horsepower and 450 Newton-meters in the range-topping variants. The transmission options are a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic, and the drivetrain is available in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations.

Performance

The top-of-the-line Navara is powered by a powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 187 hp and 450 Nm torque. While the throttle input is jerky, it isn't challenging to get used to; additionally, the 7-speed automatic transmission sends power smoothly and without hesitation.

The Navara nose dives during hard braking, and body roll is noticeable when taking corners at high speeds. Those are expected but expect a very supple ride with this pickup truck. It's also not floaty to drive, which is a plus.

 Exterior

In 2021, the Navara received a major exterior facelift. For the 2021 model year, the front bumper, grille, headlights, rear tailgate, taillights, and rear bumper were all updated. Nissan also updated the wheel design for all models, with the largest set coming in at 18 inches in diameter for the VL variants.

The 4x4 Pro, the more trail-oriented model, has smaller 17-inch wheels, but they are finished in a glossy black finish that adds a lot of sportiness. Nissan Navara will also have up to 245 mm of ground clearance for the base models, 220 mm for the VE, 225 mm for the 4x2 VL, and 220 for the PRO-4X 4x4 and VL 4x4. All models will have a chrome front grille, except for the PRO-4X, which will have a black and orange color scheme. Except for the VE variant, all trims come standard with side step boards.

In addition to the gloss black wheels with orange accents and the blacked-out grille with orange accents, the PRO-4X has body cladding with accents, gloss black side mirror caps, and gloss black door handles.

In terms of color, the Navara receives a few variant-exclusive colorways. Nissan's Stealth Pearl Gray and Firey Red are exclusive colors for the top-of-the-line PRO-4X. In addition to Galaxy Black and Aspen Pearl White, the model is available in various other colors. Meanwhile, the EL and VE models are available in three color options: Brilliant Silver, Alpine White, and Galaxy Black. Meanwhile, the Navara's mid-range to high-end trims, including the VE to VL trims, get Galaxy Black, Aspen Pearl White, a new color called Forged Metallic Copper, and Lunar Metallic Gray.

 Interior

The Navara retains the pre-update model's general design. Leather seats with PRO-4X stitching are standard on the top-of-the-line PRO-4X Navara, but all other variants get new leather and fabric seat designs. Nissan still includes its famous Zero-gravity seats with the Navara. The redesigned steering wheel is another new addition for the 2021 model year. Because the gauge cluster now has a new multi-information display, the new wheel includes navigation controls for the new screen.

The updated Nissan Navara includes standard airbags (driver, front passenger, side, and side curtain), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), and many other features.
