Subaru WRX STI Price in Sri Lanka

Subaru WRX STI Price in Sri Lanka

The new Subaru WRX STI demonstrates that legends do not die; they only pass on their magnificence. That's what the Impreza WRX STI did before it. It may no longer have the previous stunning nameplate, but what it lost in refinement and performance, it made up for enhanced performance in advance. When it debuted in the Philippines alongside the WRX during the 10th Manila International Auto Show in April 2014, it quickly became one of the event's most anticipated and photographed displays, drawing crowds from day one to the finish. The revised exterior is clearly inspired by the Impreza, beginning with the enormous hood scoop and hinting at a monster within. The aggressive front fascia matches the wide 4-door sedan body, which is emphasized by fender flares, side skirts, and the STI rear wing. Its interior is similar to that of the WRX but with a hint of STI-rage here and there. A powerful 300hp 2.5L Turbo-Intercooled High-Boost 4-Cylinder Boxer Engine peeks through the hood scoop, tamed by a 6-Speed manual transmission. It delivers WRC-like thrills via its Symmetrical AWD System and SI-Drive Technology. With competition-ready suspension and braking systems, it can be as gracefully threatening on the pavement as on mud, sand, gravel, and other surfaces.

Subaru WRX STI Review

The 2021 Subaru WRX STI, inspired by Subaru's factory-backed FIA World Championship Rally series race vehicles and built for optimum performance, will overwhelm the faint of heart. The STI's finicky turbocharged flat-four cylinder engine and stiff suspension are enough to scare even the most dedicated driving aficionados. The fast Subaru sedan's tenacious all-wheel-drive system and manual-only transmission are remarkable features. If the STI is too hot for you, there's always the WRX, which is less edgy but still raw. While the STI lacks the storage room of competitor high-performance hatchbacks like the Honda Civic Type R, its all-wheel-drive system allows it to overcome terrain in all four seasons. Sure, its noisy operation and other antiquated features will turn off some buyers, but the car's rawness and rowdiness will captivate masochists, sorry, purists.

The turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four in the WRX STI is eager to rev and emits a distinctive flat-four burble via the car's quad exhaust pipes. However, this aging engine isn't as smooth or powerful as the more petite turbo fours powering Subie's closest competitors. Along with some early latency from the large turbo spooling up, the engine's lack of low-end grunt reveals itself in a short, punchy power delivery that may be annoying around town. Working the car's basic six-speed manual transmission is required to keep it pulling hard, including sharp, high-rpm clutch drops for maximum acceleration from a standstill. When pushed to their limits, the STI's controls work well together.

The STI is more sporty and entertaining on twisting back roads than the WRX, thanks to its buttoned-down chassis and all-wheel-drive traction. The stiff suspension limits excessive body motion at the expense of ride comfort on rougher roads, but this hottest Subaru is still manageable as a daily vehicle for enthusiasts. Its electrically assisted steering is quick, direct. It has a modest feel, while the movable center differential allows the driver to fine-tune the handling by altering the front-to-rear torque split of the drivetrain. The STI's pedals are well-spaced for race-car-style heel-and-toe downshifts, and the firm brake pedal provides decent initial bite and simple modulation.
